    Web Segments: First-Party Segments


      Article Summary

      You might keep cookies on your website and these cookies contain information about your users or segments of users. So, you can use this information in 3rd parties or internal segmentation such as segmenting users who have a high amount of purchases in white t-shirts, or users who have left email information when they sign up.

      First-Party Segments enable you to target your users based on custom dataset values stored both in Local Storage and First Party Cookies.

      You can target a specific dataset to see if the cookie you would like to target has any of the values in this dataset. You can upload a CSV file as a dataset (e.g. Cookie Value in Custom Dataset - in - premium_user - user_list).

      Use Cases

      You can use the first-party segments where applicable and create campaigns as follows:

      • You can target your users according to your CRM data, so that the relevant users can see your campaign. 
      • You can target your offline (store) users on your website if these users also have user accounts on your website.
      • You can segment your mobile app users with your CRM data.
